Hydrophiloidea (Water scavenger beetles)

Wikipedia Abstract

Hydrophiloidea is a superfamily of beetles. Until recently it was only a single family, the water scavenger beetles (Hydrophilidae), but several of the subfamilies have been removed and raised to family rank. The present list of recognized families is thus: \n* Epimetopidae \n* Georissidae (= Georyssidae) \n* Helophoridae \n* Hydrochidae \n* Hydrophilidae \n* Spercheidae (= Sphaeridiidae) The Histeroidea seem to be very closely related and may be part of an extended Hydrophiloidea clade; some researchers have proposed merging the two superfamilies into one.
