Wikipedia Abstract

The Bronze Anole (Anolis aeneus) is a species of anole lizard that is found in the Caribbean Lesser Antilles and South America. It is distributed on Grenada and throughout the Grenadines islands, and it has been introduced to Trinidad and Tobago. It can also be found in Guyana on the mainland. It has been the focus of numerous studies of the behavior and ecological strategies employed by Anolis species.

Invasive Species

The bronze anole, Anolis aeneus is native to the Lesser Antilles and has been introduced and established on Trinidad since the early 1800's. Despite this, the negative ecological and economic effects of A. aeneus are not well known. It is regarded as 'invasive' on Trinidad in the broader sense of being able to expand its range and become abundant.
